Aging Skin Care - Does Chemical Peeling Slow The Aging?
In skincare, doctors use chemical peeling as a procedure to remove sun-damaged, pigmented, and wrinkled skin by peeling it with chemicals. As the old skin peels off, new skin appears that is much fresher looking. But chemical peeling does not slow the aging process or prevent it. What is done is to remove old damaged skin with a fresh looking new skin. After that it is up to you to take better care of your skin to keep it younger for more time by protecting it from sun. The process itself does not affect the internal aging of the skin. If you expose your new skin to the sun again, you will get damaged as you got damaged before.
Skincare with chemical peeling and skin damages:
Chemical peeling will remove mild skin wrinkles; sun damaged spots, and pigmentation. It also will remove the leathery appearance of the skin. A chemical peel will help remove some pre-cancerous spots and facial scars. Mild chemical peeling is used to treat acne in some cases.
Can chemical peeling cause damage:
In rare cases, chemical peeling procedures can damage with infection and scarring. You must talk to your doctor about this. No procedure that changes the body in any way is free from risk. AHA formulations are used to give light peel, TCA is used to give a medium depth peel and phenol is used to give deep peel to the skin. You can visualize the process like this- the deeper your skin problem, the deeper peel may be used. So for surface aberrations, a mild peel and for deeper scars a deep peel. Your doctor will decide that after looking at your skin and consulting with you about what results you desire, the time you want to give, and the care and discomfort you are ready to undergo. Deep peels give more discomfort but produce better results. You will have to discuss these issues with your doctor.

Skin Care
‘Facial skin care’ is more a matter of discipline than anything else. A facial skincare routine is what you need (and you need to follow the facial skincare routine with complete seriousness). So let’s check what comprises an effective facial skin care routine. Well, very simply, a facial skincare routine can follow the following 4 steps:
Cleansing
Toning
Exfoliating
Moisturizing
Cleansing is the first thing in a facial skin care routine. Cleansing helps in removing dust, pollutants, grease and extra oil from your skin, thereby preventing damage to your skin. Just spot your face and neck with a good cleansing lotion or cream and gently massage it into your skin using upward strokes. Use a soft face tissue or cotton wool to wipe your face in a gentle patting fashion (do not rub). Cleansing should be done at least twice a day i.e. morning (as part of complete facial skincare routine) and evening (on a standalone basis). Water-soluble cleansers are the best for inclusion in your facial skincare routine.
Toning is the next in a facial skincare routine. However, this is the optional part of the facial skincare routine. Mostly, proper cleansing can compensate for toning. Toning helps remove all traces of dirt, grease and excess cleanser. Instead of making it part of your daily facial skincare routine, you can use toning occasionally i.e. when you have been exposed to a particularly harsh environment/pollution.
Exfoliation is again, kind of, an optional step in everyday routine for facial skincare. However, exfoliation is necessary at least once a week (or twice, depending on the skin type and the environmental conditions). Exfoliation finds its place in facial skin care routine because of the natural tendency of skin to replenish the skin cells every 3 or 4 weeks. As a facial skin care technique, exfoliation helps in removing the dead skin cells that block the pores, thus assisting the skin in the natural process. However, excessive or harsh exfoliation can cause damage to your skin; so you need to balance it out.
Moisturizing is the last step. In fact, moisturizing is
the most important part of facial skincare routine.
Moisturizers prevent your skin from getting
dry. Dry skin is really undesirable since it causes the upper layer skin to break, leading to dead skin cells.
Again, use light upward strokes to make the moisturiser more effective. Moisturizers work the best when applied on warm and damp skin. So do
not try to remove all the moisture in the previous steps of facial skincare routine.
Beautiful Eyes
Eyes have been called the windows of the soul because of how much they communicate. Eyes give your face energy and individuality. They do not have to be a certain size or shape to be considered pretty - all eyes have their own unique beauty. When makeup is applied to look natural it will bring out the eye’s true color and enhance the eye’s beauty. When you feel good about your makeup you will be more confident and will have one less thing to worry about.
A subtle application of eyeliner, shadows, and mascara work together to create magic and make your eyes look their best.
Eye Shadow:
Eye shadow is meant to highlight and define the eyes. Eye shadow is used to create depth to bring out the beauty of the eyes. A dark color used on the lid will make the eye appear smaller, while a lighter color will make it appear larger. That is what eyeshadow is about creating illusions. These are the basic techniques for the following eye shapes:
Small eyes: Don’t use too much shadow or liner – it will make your eyes look smaller. Apply a light color on eyelids, use a darker color in the crease, and use a highlighter under the brow.
Large eyes: Wear a darker shadow on the lid and extend it to the crease. Use a flat color under the brow to highlight.
Deep-set eyes: Use light colors on the eyelid and under the brow. Use a medium color in the crease. Emphasize the outer corners with shadow.
Wide-set eyes: Use darker colors on the inner corners of the eye.
Hooded eyes: Apply light colors on the lid. Use darker colors from the center of the eyelid to the outer corners and blend.
Round eyes: Make round eyes longer by using color all around and extending toward the outer corners.
Asian eyes: Apply highlighter under the brow. Use light shadow on the inner half of the lid and a darker color on the outer half.
1. Light colors cause the eyes to open, dark colors will cause the eyes to recede
2. If you have very light skin avoid dark shades
3. Be careful with shimmer – they will bring attention to imperfections and wrinkles.
4. The eye area is the first to show age and don't tug on the skin.
Eyeliners:
Eyeliners are meant to define the eyes so they should do just that, not be the focal point of your makeup. Eyeliners come in various forms: liquid, pencil, gel, etc. Keep the eyeliner natural. Pencils are available in many colors (for the best look, stick to black or brown) and can be sharpened for a fine line. For a smudged effect use a sponge tip eyeshadow applicator or an eyeshadow brush. When your pencils are too soft refrigerate them. When they are too hard, soften them by holding them between your fingers.
To line the eye, start on the lower lid, just beneath the lashes. When you are finished always smudge the line with your sponge. Stay as close to the lash line as possible. On the upper lid, draw a line from the inner corner to the outer corner, thickening the line toward the outer corner. After the age of 40 keep the line in between the lashes.
Mascara and the creation of beautiful lashes:
Mascara frames your eyes and can make your face come alive. Mascara softly accentuates the eye while thickening and darkening the lashes; it is the finishing touch for eyes. There are several different types to choose from, thickening, and waterproof to smudge-proof. Waterproof will need a special remover and smudge proof will wash off easily. It is not a good idea to wear waterproof mascara for extended periods of time since it has a tendency to dry the lashes.
Select a shade of mascara that complements your coloring. Dark shades on pale eyes with brown lashes will darken them and will look harsh. Stay away from blues and other colors since they will ruin your look.
Lashes that are hard to curl may need the help of an eyelash curler. Curl your lashes before you apply mascara – hold for ten to twenty seconds.
To apply mascara look straight into your mirror with your chin slightly lifted so you can see your lashes. Insert the wand only once and twist, don’t pump. Pumping can break the brush bristles and distribute the mascara unevenly and will dry out the mascara faster. Start by rolling the wand from root to tip in an upward motion. Reinsert the brush and apply again. If your eyelashes are thick and long they may clunk together. If this happens let them dry and then separate them with the corner of an eyebrow brush.
Beautiful Hairstyles with Hair Extensions and Hair Weaves
Hair extensions are becoming an increasingly popular way of instantly getting that long beautiful hair some of us can only dream of! Growing your hair long takes 5-6 years at an average of 1 cm per month! Hair extensions can give you around 21 inches of thick hair in just a few hours!
There are two main types of hair extensions. Hair extensions can be made out of synthetic fibers and are referred to as synthetic hair extensions or out of human hair and referred to as human hair extensions. Human hair extensions tend to be the preferred kind of hair extensions because they look and feel a lot more natural then the synthetic kind. Also, heat cannot be applied to most synthetic fibers causing some inconvenience if a person needs to use some hair appliances. The downside of human hair extensions is that they are usually much more expensive then the synthetic ones! Notwithstanding, there is no fixed price for human hair extensions because this differs according to the quality, style, and length of extensions required. Hair extensions that are untreated and uncolored usually cost more because they are more durable!
Hair Weaves:
A change of hairstyle is often
enough to make you look more sophisticated, younger or simply different. Hair weaves are a good idea for those who
fancy some braids, dreadlocks or simply a fuller head of hair and a different
look!
Hair weaves are another form of hair extensions and can also be made out of synthetic or natural hair. There are three types of hair weaves:
- Bonded Hair Weave - This is the least durable kind of hair weave and only lasts 1 month until it would need to be replaced. This kind of hair weave gets glued to the scalp
- Braided Hair Weave - This is a 2 step procedure. The natural hair is braided along the center of the scalp (under the hair) and then the hair weave gets sewn into the braids. This type of hair weave normally lasts around 2 months.
- Fusion Hair Weave - This is the most lasting kind of hair weave since it needs to be changed every 3 months. This procedure involves waxing the hair weave to the natural hair.
Both hair extensions and hair weaves require considerable maintenance. The hair needs to be treated with gentle respect and cleaned and moisturized daily with a good conditioner. Remember, that while natural hair gets the necessary oils and moisture from your scalp, hair extensions and hair weaves don’t! Also, depending on the style and procedure for your hair extensions/hair weaves, you might also have to visit the hairdresser every 6 weeks to fix your hair extensions due to your natural hair regrowth.
Whichever kind of hair
extension you choose, always consult your hair specialist for advice, and pick
the safest procedure. Finally, enjoy
your beautiful hair!
